Final Digipak

I have clearly made a lot of changes on my digipak from the first draft I made, due to the draft not looking very professional. I feel that all the colours I have used support the theme in which the initial band use and the nature theme, as well as complimenting the mise en scene of my main artist. The contrast editing I have done on each photo ensures that all pictures conform to a rock style, and clearly come from the same digipak. I have created this final image in order to portray what my digipak would look like when all together.

Final Advert

This is my final digipak which I have created on Indesign. I believe it is successful as it includes all the conventions for a music advert and it links in very well with my music artist. These are the final magazine adverts I have created. I wanted to make it as simple as possible as I thought making it look too busy and messy may distract the audience and prevent them from knowing where to focus.
The landscape version I have created enables a choice. It ensures that my magazine adverts could be used in places like bus stops, however with the landscape option, it means advertising can be done on billboards etc...

Rough copy of music video

This is the rough cut of my music video, which has made me realise that there are a few things which need to be changed in order to make this music video to the best of my ability. Some of the settings for the colours need to be improved as while filming at Ruislip Lido the lighting was very bright which caused my video to look too bright at some places. Furthermore some of the shots need to also be shortened for my music video to be a bit shorter and for me to be able to fit another part at the end in order to end my music video successfully.

Additionally, this means that it will then have three parts to it, the beginning, the middle part where it can either be a disruption or a story telling, and the end where everything either goes back to normal or the problem is sorted.

Unfortunately I was unable to film the last part of my music video which involves filming on stage where the male is singing with the spotlight on him and then the girl walks in so the camera moves on to her with the spotlight on her and as the song is near to finishing they both get together and touch hands. This last part will however be added during Christmas holidays as I have planned to film then and add that to my video and edit it perfectly.

Narrative and structure of Music Video

This is the narrative of my music video which highlights what each scene will show. This has helped me plan my music video more carefully and having received feedback for it, the audience have highlighted that they are aware of what will be happening in my music video and they do like the storyline.

Alternations made along the way

There are many alternations that have been made along the way. For example my first narrative idea was that I wanted to have my actor at the end go to a grave yard in order to highlight that the lover singing the lyrics has died however I found that very depressing and I wanted to have a more happy ending.

Therefore, I decided for the female to do a live performance which added some variation to my music video and I made it look like the whole video is being sung from a female perspective, where while she is finding the lyrics around a field and stepping on them like they mean nothing to her because she is emotionally strong. This has been highlighted because I wanted to break the 'usual' convention of females being more emotionally weak than males.  Near the end of the song the song speeds up and that is where my music video goes in reverse order and the video ends with the male stepping in the live perfomance and touching hands with the main singer Katie.

I made this big change as I believed it gave my music video a better narrative and a happy ending leaving the audience feel good after watching it.

Lastly, another big change I made was the location I wanted to film in.

I firstly wanted to film in her house and the field only however later on I decided to also film in the studio to overall give my music video some variation shots in order to make it more attractive.
