Analysis of previous A2 work

I  have decided to analyse a previous Haydon Media student's  work because while watching his video I felt he was successful in showing a simple narrative and also performance styled video. I felt that his work was professional and included lots of different and interesting shots.

0:00 – 0:30
At the beginning of the video I believe that the song goes well with the visuals of being soft, delicate and innocent. It makes the audience feel sympathy and automatically gains happiness as the pulse of colour of the song lifts and it is effective as it shows the 'hope and happiness' of the little girl.

0:31 – 1:24
Furthermore, the cut between the artist and the little girl as it shows the artist and also tells the audience that the song helps the narrative of the story, additionally the song also tells the narrative of the little girl. There are some really effective shots including the longshot of the artist and breaking of the forth hall. It is like he is telling the audience a story. Also there are some interesting angles used to make it interesting such as the high angled shot as the artist performs. This creates intimacy with the audience

1:29-
Moreover, the girl is then cut back to and her excitement grows as she runs away. The clear pulse is used again to emphasize the excitement and warmth she is getting ready for something important.

2:15-
The shots of cyclists show the reason and the audience are familiar with the shot. The artist performing creates here interesting and intimate with the audience through the use of close ups and medium frame shots. Profile shots are used to emphasize the realistic and relation to life.

4:12 -

The darker shots of the scene represent the darkness and it makes the audience feel isolated, helpless as the ongoing shots are used as they give the bad news.
